Self-care and wellness are becoming more and more popular, and for good reason. Taking time to care for yourself can help you feel relaxed, restored and more like yourself. Looking after your overall wellbeing can also support healthy skin. That’s why I’m bringing wellness into Skin South Wales through SSW Wellness, starting with pressotherapy.
What is pressotherapy?
Pressotherapy (compression boot therapy) is a relaxing treatment that uses controlled air pressure to create a gentle, rhythmic, massage-like sensation around the legs. At Skin South Wales, I use Therabody JetBoots to provide a soothing leg massage without hands-on touch.
What can pressotherapy help with?
The gentle compression is designed to support circulation and lymphatic flow in the legs. Pressotherapy is often used as part of post-exercise recovery. Many people also enjoy it as a relaxing way to soothe tired legs after a long day sitting or standing.
Is it only for athletes?
Not at all. Although pressotherapy is popular in exercise recovery, you don’t need to be sporty to enjoy it. It can be a lovely way to switch off and give your legs some attention, especially if you like massage but prefer not to be touched.
Everyone experiences pressotherapy differently, and it isn’t suitable for everyone. If you have a health condition, a history of blood clots or unexplained leg swelling, check with a healthcare professional before treatment.
Curious to try it?
To celebrate the launch, you can book three 40-minute sessions for £55, usually £90 in total. View treatment details and book here.
